School Calendar

2022-2023 SENIOR INFANTS

Welcome to Ms. O’Brien’s class!

Take a look at what we got up to this year.
June

As you can see from the pictures we had a very busy month. Active School Week, a school tour, a trip to Huntington Castle, a trip to Weaver’s Cottage and and Buddy Reading with Sixth Class kept us very busy.

We were learning about animals that live under the sea, one of our favourite books this month was ‘Commotion in the Ocean’. We listened to the song ‘Under the Sea’ and created a movement to it, we then created under the sea pictures. These were bright and colourful just like the Great Barrier Reef! Elsbeth finished up with Music Generation, we had one final concert which
Sixth Class came to see. We sang so beautifully.

Senior Infants are ready now to move into First Class and they look forward to a summer of fun with their families.

May

We are delighted to be outside a lot more this month, we go outside for Aistear, PE and even Irish.
This month we learned about Camping, we had a tent in our classroom and lots of children brought in books and items related to camping. We went on a mini beast hunt and created mini beasts in Art.
We are fortunate to have Ita coming to school to teach us how to play basketball each Monday.

On the 26th of May, the entire school took part in a May Marathon Challenge, to raise money for the playground. This was such a success.

In Music, Elspeth is teaching us about rhythm and keeping the beat.

We cannot wait to go on school tour on June 13 th .

Our Aistear areas are based on the zoo also, have a look at our pictures! In Irish we listened to the story of Hansel agus Gretel and acted out this story.

The weather this month was really nice and we got outside to the playground and for PE. When the weather gets warmer we hope to go outside for some Aistear sessions too.
