We make a huge effort to keep expenses to a minimum. Basketball training, Active School Week events and visits from outside speakers are at no extra cost to parents.
To raise sufficient funds for resources in school, the school and the Parents Council organise several fund raising events during the school year, such as the yearly Christmas raffle, trolley raffle in one of the supermarkets and the used clothes collection. The proceeds go to provide pupils with resources.
We also like our pupils to be aware of those who are less fortunate than themselves. This is part of our SPHE and Religion programme, but it is also part of the development of the whole person. The children have always been extremely generous in their response to any fund raising activities which are held in the school. Every year around Christmas we take part in the Hope Shoebox Appeal and give a donation to a (local) charity.
Hope Shoebox Appeal 2019
Traditionally in Ireland, many children receive presents from their Grandparents, Godparents, Aunts, Uncles, etc. In many countries families are too poor to give presents to their relations. That is why around Christmas we think especially of children in poorer countries and bring them some happiness. Our school does this by supporting the Hope Shoebox Appeal. The children usually fill the shoe boxes with little gifts during Halloween break to be brought in early November. These shoeboxes bring hope, love, excitement and a smile to little faces when they open them. More information can be found on www.teamhope.ie.
With a big thank you from Team Hope as they received a record-breaking 270,488 shoeboxes in 2019, which were sent to children in 13 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe. They also celebrated their 10th annual Shoebox Appeal since their founding and also delivered their 2 millionth shoebox!

Donation Bunclody Daycare Centre 2018
With the bucket collection during the School Christmas Carol Service and the 2019 calendars the children made in school there was €780 raised of which €390 was donated to Bunclody Daycare Centre. Mrs. Marie Breen came to our weekly assembly to receive the cheque.
Hope Shoebox Appeal 2018
In 2018 there was a wonderful response to the shoebox appeal, with families donating 110 boxes! Thank you to all who supported the appeal which will bring happiness and joy to children who receive far less presents than we do.
