To the students, staff, parents, grandparents, relatives, friends and businesses who supported our fundraiser. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support, enthusiasm and donations to the May Marathon Challenge. All of your support and donations are very important to us. We are proud to announce we have raised €4,045.00, an astonishing amount. This money will
enable us to purchase items for the school yards to enrich your children’s school experience.
The day itself was a roaring success. The atmosphere was like an all-Ireland final. The students ran with everything they had, being cheered on by their peers. The sense of community and excitement was fantastic to see. The race began with the Junior Infants and ended with the entire school coming
out to the pitch to cheer on Sixth Class.
The Marathon took three hours and three minutes and twenty three seconds to complete. After the race the students enjoyed a treat of water, crisps and jellies which were very kindly donated by O’Reilly’s Supervalu of Bunclody.
We would also like to say a special thank you to the Transition Year students Lia, Darragh and Nicole for all their help setting things up and for their help on the day. In addition, thank you to all the teachers and SNAs for their hard work co-ordinating the day and keeping things running smoothly.
