As of 2017, the Department of Education has currently sanctioned the building of a new learning support classroom.

Our building project has been completed in June 2016 and we are very happy to have an extra mainstream classroom and an extension to our staffroom. On June 28, Bishop Nulty came to our school to bless the new extension. The children from Mrs. Nolan's class will be very happy to join their friends in their new classroom in the main school building.

May 2016: The new classroom extension is almost completed
Builders will be finished mid May. Then, under new building regulations, we cannot occupy the classroom until BCAR final application information is submitted to and approved by Carlow Co. Council. In reality, it will probably be near the end of June before we can remove the rented cabin from the rear of the school and occupy the new classroom. Whenever the site is cleared we will have a lot of work to do to reclaim our Herb Garden and our Sensory Garden.

February 2016: Work is progressing fast and the classroom extension now has a roof.

January 2016: The extension has re-commenced, having been delayed due to the heavy rain over the Christmas period.

October 2015: The building of our new extension has begun. We will obviously lose the grass area at the front of the school during the extension, but most of it will be available again on completion of the project. We will also gain the area where the prefab is situated as further playing space.
