Welcome to Ms. Austin's class!
September 2020
Second and third class had a great September. We went on a nature walk and picked blackberries. We made blackberry jam. It was delicious. Lots of us sent photographs on Seesaw of us eating the blackberry jam. We also picked up leaves and researched them. We found the leaves of oak trees, sycamore trees and horse chestnut trees. We displayed them and their fruit on our nature windowsill! We also made leaf rubbings. We planted cress seeds by reusing yoghurt pots (see video). We used the school’s compost. It was full of earthworms and woodlice. The soil was so rich in nutrients. We had great fun. In art we made the colour wheel showing the primary colours and secondary colours. We researched different artists and we painted ‘Umbrellas’ by Renoir. We are also getting our Credit Union Art drawings ready. In maths we do oral maths every day. That is fun and it gets us thinking. We also made 2D and 3D shapes. We are all now looking forward to Halloween!!
